Aloha Friday #8

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. The An Island Life blog has a tradition to take it easy with posting, too. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, as well. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

To answer Kailani's question...
I work Friday nights and after work we're heading to the lake for a weekend of camping and fishing!

My question for this week is:
I'm changing the question...Lindsey is pregnant and she is terribly nauseaus all the time!

  1. One of each - the jeep is manual and the truck is automatic.

  2. A few things helped me. Taking a B Complex vitamin (some prenatal vitamins have it built in, others don't), anything with ginger in it (I preferred ginger snap cookies), and Preggy Pops (you can get them at most maternity or baby stores).

  3. I may make someone ill just reading this, but the only thing that worked was a sour green apple every morning. One nice green Granny Smith right when I woke up. Worked like a charm...but I'm an odd duck.

  4. I haven't been pregnant yet so I have no morning sickness cures, sorry!

  5. I was sick for months.. never really found the cure.. but sometimes sucking on something sweet in the morning would help.. I bought some little hard candies at our maternity store.. Motherhood. I forget the name of them.. I'm sure they still have them.

  6. Thank you for the goodluck wish on my interview!

I've hear that eating crackers when you very first wake up helps morning sickness. Snack throughout the day.

  7. When she wakes up she needs to have something to eat by her bedside. That's one of the things that worked for me plus sweethearts. The candy.

  9. I had BAD morning sickness with both my kids. Cereal in the moring helped big time. I can't recommend this incase her body needs it, but I quit taking my prenatal vitamins after a month the first time around because I swore they were making the morning sickness worse. It wasn't quite as bad after.

  10. One of the culprits that was causing my nausea were PreNatal Vitamins. I stopped taking them and switched to others that were approved by my doctor along with extra folic acid. Seabands helped from time to time, but usually just taking it easy and drinking plenty of fluids helped me.

  11. I didn't take anything 24 years ago but my daughter swear by those new lollipops they have out for pregnant women.

  12. Congratulations on being a "Nana" again soon! My Pre-natal vits made me sick...so I started to take them at night before bed and it HELPED SO MUCH. Other than that Ginger Ale.

  13. I don't have a remedy, sadly. Mine was so bad that my doctor had to give me medicine for it. I forget what it's called, but it was created for chemotherapy patients and also helps with motion sickness. It was amazing.
